As more technology is being introduced into the world of cryptocurrency, Opera is launching new improved browser software which has a built-in crypto wallet.
On Wednesday, the developer of the browser revealed that it's a new version of the Opera browser particularly for Android and it fuses easy-to-use cryptocurrency wallet performance with help for the Ethereum Web3 API. Right now, the browser is in private beta, and the company is currently inviting fresh users to join.
Users will no longer open a fresh web browser or download a new extension to receive, send and pay in cryptocurrencies. Users can now do all these straight away from a toggle switch on their browsers on all supported mobile Android gadgets.
It is an eye-opener for all developers of decentralised web applications, dapps, since the new browser functionality enables users to associate easily with dapps being engineered on the Ethereum network.
Charles Hamel, an expert and the Product Lead on Opera Cryptocurrency said:
"We believe the web of today will be the interface to the decentralised web of tomorrow….by becoming the first major browser to open up to Web 3.0, we would like to contribute to making the Internet of the future more accessible.”
What is Web 3.0?
Web 3.0 is the vision of a decentralised Internet that is built above the Ethereum blockchain which joins users to peer-to-peer networks and diverse dapps.
Various dapps like WeiFund have been created already to be strictly used on Web 3.0-enabled browsers arrayed with embedded wallets.
The newly developed browser that has a built-in cryptocurrency wallet role by Opera boasting a 'simple' user interface that creates on 'dapp browsers… with WebView as a default.'
That means that Opera hopes to reduce the entry impediment to Web 3.0 for all users and provide the shortcut for those users in need of venturing into the big world of cryptos and dapps.
The July 11th launch comes after an announcement in January this year, when Opera introduced crypto miner protection for all mobile Android gadgets users as part of the native ad-blocker functionality of the browser.
